How do dental implants work?
Dental implant restorations are comprised of an implant, which is placed into the jawbone, an abutment added to the top of the implant and a crown, or other replacement fixture, fitted to the abutment. How long does it take to receive dental implants?
As dental implants require some dental drill treatment, a healing period is required before the abutment and restoration can be fitted to the implant. The usual healing time is between 3-6 months, which allows the implant and jawbone to completely fuse for a strong, stable base that can last you a lifetime.
What if I have low or decreased bone density?
We provide bone grafts for patients who have low bone density, in order to strengthen their jawbones for the placement of dental implants. This may not always be possible, depending on your condition, but if you find that you are unsuitable for dental implants we can provide other effective restorative options.
Can only single teeth be replaced?
Dental implants can be used to replace an entire set of teeth, if it is the case that you have suffered complete tooth loss. In the case of complete restorations, between 4-6 implants will be strategically fitted into your jawbone, which will then hold dentures or bridges to restore your smile.
